Onsite Baking Oven

We have a main electric baking oven which is 5.1m long x 2.4m high x 2.3m wide. The oven allows us to dry out and bake larger equipment in shorter times. The rewinding of motors at our sites is completed to the highest of standards. The old motors are burnt out using a gas operated temperatured controlled burnout oven. Once these windings are removed we can test the stator laminated core of the motors with our Phenix CL-25 core loss tester. By using the temperature controlled burnout oven and the core loss tester we can maintain the efficiency levels of the repaired motor.

Rewinds

All our rewinds are wound using class H insulation and dipped or vacuum impregnated using Isonel 31 varnish. The coils are wound on our Samatic auto coil winding machine. Rewinds up to 2400kW 11000 volts have been completed at our site. We have a Hipotronics Hipot tester which is able to perform tests up to 40,000 volts and all our rewinds and repairs are Hipot and Surge tested on our Bakers Digital Surge/ DC Hipot Tester.

The Main Workshop - Burnie

The main workshop is fitted with one 8 tonne and two 3 tonne overhead cranes to allow us to freely move larger objects around the work shop. We also have a 4 tonne forklift to transport jobs between our two workshops and for unloading and loading trucks. The workshop is fitted with a 10 tonne balancing machine with the capability of balancing rotating equipment up to 8m in length and 2.8m in diameter.

New Electromagnetic Dynamometer

We can test AC & DC motors from 0 to 870 volts up to 800 amps along with 3300 volt motors up to 100amps. The new Electromagnetic dynamometer can load test motors and gearboxes up to 1200HP. We have a generator test bed able to test 2 bearing generators and they can be loaded up to 100 amps per phase by our load bank.

Machining and Fabrication

Our second building is set up to handle all the machining and fabrication work that may be required. Our machine shop is set up with mig, tig and arc welders, drill presses, tool post grinders, air guillotine, milling machine with a 1016mm x 400mm x 406mm bed and includes two 3 meter lathes with 600mm swing, a 4.5 meter lathe with a 1m swing. We have a number of presses on site with the largest press being 100 tonne.
